"Lesbianism is UNGODLY" - Claim Angry Youths As They Set Ablaze Lesbian Couple (Warning: GRAPHIC Photos)

MAKURDI: Two young ladies met their painful end at the hands of angry  youths after they were suspected to be lesbians.

The two young women, both residents of "Owner's occupier area", an area in Benue state, central Nigeria, had petrol poured on them and then set ablaze.

It was a horrific sight as witnesses inhaled the smell of roasting human flesh that filled the air.

In most parts of Africa and the developing world, homosexuality is often regarded as "evil". Homosexuals hide for fear of being lynched or stigmatized by their society.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the lesbian lovers were caught "red handed" fondling and caressing each other. They were then stripped of their clothes, paraded nude on the streets before being set ablaze.

The youths stated that homosexuality was something they would never permit in their society as their respective cultures and religion forbade it.

Benue state is predominantly made up of Christians and a little number of traditional deity worshippers. The state is however known to be a haven for female prostitution.

Jungle justice, an act of people taking laws into their hands by torturing and executing people based on suspicion is prevalent in Africa and the developing world.

Many have lost their lives innocently as people wonder what their governments are doing to stop the menace of rampant injustice.

The youths maintained that the act of lesbianism was "ungodly"  before they all disappeared at the sight of approaching policemen.

We are left wondering if "burning women alive" is therefore "godly."

There have been calls by several LBGT groups for the enlightenment of youths in the society on the issue of homosexuality and gay rights.
