"I Had No Choice But Shoot My Sister's Head Off As She Married A Christian" - Man Proudly Says (Video)

LAHORE: A Pakistani man, Mubeen Rajhu tragically killed his sister by shooting her in an act called 'honor killing'.

In an interview published by the the Associated Press,  a Pakistani man admits that he brutally murdered his teenage sister after she had rebuffed his stern warnings and got herself wedded to a Christian man.

In the video interview, which was recorded in a Lahore prison, Mubeen Rajhu, with his hands restrained by shackles, reveals to journalists the reasons why he committed the heinous crime.

According to Mubeen, he made his way into the kitchen of the family’s residence, a pistol in hand, in the presence of his mother and another sister watching, he aimed the pistol and released a single bullet which hit his sister, Tasleem’s head, ending her short life in the process. Tasleem just turned 18.

Mubeen said he couldn't just let her go, that there was nothing else his mind could focus on. He said he had no choice but to kill her. He told the AP journalists that there was no yelling or shouting as he just blew her brains out.

How and why Mubeen made such a decision to murder his junior sister happens to be saddening and worrisome just as is his carrying out of the brutal murder of a crime.

AP reports that Mubeen had always loved and cherished his kid sister. Tasleem was reported to be a devout Muslim. Later, Mubeen's colleagues at the steel mill, his working place, started sighting Tasleem moving around Lahore with a man said to be a Christian.

Then the bullying commenced. Mubeen's co-workers began freely and gleefully mocking Mubeen, informing him that his sister was dating a Christian and such was sacrilegious.

Ali Raza, Mubeen’s colleague, blabbed laughingly that it was too easy to get Tasleem into bed.

Mubeen would tell them to stop, he threatened to commit suicide if they didn't. According to Raza, the bullying colleagues told Mubeen that it would be wiser to end his sister's life instead.

Hastily, Mubeen bought a gun and 6 days after he sent Tasleem to the morgue. Mubeen said his kid sister surely had it coming. He said he warned her several times that she was bringing nothing but dishonor to their family by dating a Christian man. He succeeded in making Tasleem make an oath on the Qur'an that never would she wed the Christian man.

Later, Mubeen discovered that Tasleem had defied him and got married to the 24-year old Christian man. Mubeen said that the shame was too much for him to bear and what he was bound to be subjected to at work was something he couldn't imagine.

Two months on, Mubeen’s father is devastated by the whole incidence. However, in yet another shocking twist in this tragic saga, the father blames his dead daughter for bringing destruction to his family and not his son who murdered her.

Other residents in the impoverished neighborhood shockingly sympathize with the father and shower praises on Mubeen. Babar Ali, a neighbor, said he was proud of Mubeen as he did the right thing to have ended her life.

Pakistan has recently been experiencing an increase in "honor killings" with women significantly falling victims. Pakistan recorded 1,184 honor killings in 2015 alone, out of which 1,096 of the murder victims were women.

This saddening development  which is now considered an epidermic of sorts led lawmakers to pass bills that seek to seal the loopholes that exist in their country's murder laws which have on numerous occasions allowed murder suspects walk Scot-free.

The proposed law seeks to ensure that perpetrators serve a 12-and-a-half year jail sentence even if they were forgiven by the affected families.
